How to Submit a Case with the Straumann SIRIOS™

The Straumann SIRIOS™ scanners have been optimized for Straumann solutions, including ClearCorrect with the ability to start new aligner, new retainer, and revision cases directly from the scanner.

The software and ClearCorrect integrated workflow are the same for all Straumann SIRIOS™ scanners.

This article covers the ClearCorrect workflows for submitting new aligner or retainer cases, and revisions, using the Straumann SIRIOS™ portfolio scanners.

 

Pairing with ClearCorrect account

To pair your ClearCorrect account with Straumann SIRIOS™ follow these steps:

  1. Log in to Straumann SIRIOS™ User account.
  2. Go to Settings and select Export.
  3. Select Log in within the ClearCorrect box.

Submitting a New Aligner or Retainer Case

Let's look at the workflow for submitting a new aligner or retainer case.

Step Details
1. Start a New Case Open the Straumann SIRIOS™ scanner application to start a new case. From the main workspace, navigate to the new case menu and select ClearCorrect.
2. Add Patient

Click on the Add patient button.

3. Patient Information Enter the patient's information, select the Aligner or Retainer treatment type, then click the Next button.
4. Scan Lower Arch

Begin the scanning series for the patient’s arches, starting with the lower arch. Utilize the Cleaning Tools if needed to tidy up remaining artifacts (such as excess soft tissue) on scans, then click Next.

Remember to always acquire at least 3-5 mm of gingiva on each scan.

5. Scan Upper Arch Scan the patient's upper arch. Utilize the Cleaning Tools if needed to tidy up remaining artifacts, then click Next to continue the scan series to capture the patient's bite.
6. Scan Bite For the bite scan, scan 2 Bite Keys on both the right and left sides.
7. Review & Send

Click Review to process your scan and move to the review. Verify the quality of your scan and move to the Export step.

Select Send to export the case to ClearCorrect Doctor Portal. 

8. Doctor Portal

To navigate to the Doctor Portal and complete your submission, locate the case in the Outbox and click on the case web icon to be directed to the Doctor Portal.

Complete the Create an Order workflow in the Doctor Portal, ensuring all information is accurate, scan files are attached, and any additional necessary information or instructions are provided before clicking the Submit button.

Submitting a Case Revision

This video walks you through the revision workflow.

Let's look at the workflow for submitting a case revision.

Step Details
1. Locate the Case

Locate the case in the SIRIOS scanner software, by using the search field for the patient's name and/or the drop-down filters, selecting:
 

  • Search: Patient Name
  • Status: Exported
  • Treatment type: ClearCorrect

2. Revise

Select the three dots on the case card to access the menu, then choose Revise from the pop-up menu.

3. Instructions

Complete the revision instructions by providing detailed guidance, including revision goals, identification of non-tracking issues, problematic angles/views, desired changes, preferences for overcorrection, or any other specific requests. Then, select the Next button located in the lower right corner.

4. Scan

Initiate the scanning process for the patient's arches, align, review, then export.

Click on the case web icon to be directed to the Doctor Portal.

5. Doctor Portal

Complete the Request a Revision form in the Doctor Portal, ensuring all information is accurate, scan files are attached, and any additional necessary information or instructions are provided before clicking the Submit button.
